Transcendental philosophy and ecology: politics as jurisprudence

On Thursday, February 10th at 12 pm, we hosted CAS SEE Weekly Seminar with Giacomo Gambaro, presented by our Fellow Andrea Colombo.

Professor Gambaro will present a talk on the relationship between transcendental philosophy and ecology at the core of the activity of the research group “Metamorphosis of the Transcendental” at the University of Padua. The main topics of the talk will concern the task of a transcendental philosophy and its political translation in the contemporaneity characterized by the ecological crisis and the diffusion of a new kind of ecologism.

Giacomo Gambaro is contract professor of philosophy at the University of Padua. His main areas of research concern transcendental philosophy starting from Fichte, the neo-Kantian debate with particular reference to Lask’s thought and Gramsci’s political theory. He wrote a monograph dedicated to the relationship between transcendental philosophy and practical horizon in the last Fichte (Padova 2020) and several essays in books and journals. He is member of the research group “Metamorphosis of the Transcendental” at the University of Padua.
