From 16th October until 21st October 2022 in Moise Palace, Ljubljana University carried out the project Solving personnel challenges. The project was a combination of lectures and the application of knowledge in research work on the case study of Hotel Kimen.
The students of the master’s program Sociology – Management of Human Resources, Knowledge and Organizations, based on the analysis of the socio-economic situation and conditions, as well as an insight into the local and organizational environment, gained new knowledge and experience of cooperation in team project work.
Experiences, challenges, and plans for the future development of the tourism sector in cooperation with the local community were presented by the mayor of Cres, Mr. Marin Gregorovič, and the director of the Tourist Board of Cres, Mrs. Željka Stašić. They also met with the director of the Museum of the City of Cres, Mrs. Jelena Dunato, and with the designer, Mrs. Vesna Jakić, who presented touristic activities based on the use and felting of waste sheep’s wool.
Students, under the mentorship of prof. Dr. Aleksandre Kanjuo Mrčela and Dr. Andreja Kohonta gained diverse insights into the functioning of the tourism sector. They had the opportunity to apply knowledge from selected areas of economic sociology and strategic human resource management.
