On October 8th, the University of Rijeka had the honour of welcoming Professor Shijun Tong, President of New York University Shanghai (NYU Shanghai), as part of his short-term mobility visit to Southeast Europe. His visit to Rijeka followed stops in Belgrade and Dubrovnik and was organised within the framework of the Rectors’ Forum of Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans.
During his visit, Professor Tong met with University representatives at the Rectorate, where discussions focused on potential avenues for future collaboration, particularly in the area of postdoctoral residency programmes. The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector Professor Marta Žuvić, Head of the Centre for Advanced Studies of Southeastern Europe (CAS SEE) Professor Sanja Bojanić, and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Rijeka, Professor Saša Drezgić.
This visit represented an important step toward developing future cooperation between the two institutions and strengthening the internationalisation of the University of Rijeka.
