Home- The Statute of Cres and Osor
On December 10th, 2021, Dr. Željko Bartulović, Head of the Department of History of Law and State at the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, gave a lecture on Cres-Osor Statute from 1441. This year marks the 580th anniversary of the adoption of the Statute.
The Cres-Osor Statute includes enacted and written provisions from 1409 to 1608. In 1640, the provisions were arranged and classified into four books (chapters). The Statute was printed in Venice in 1640 in the Venetian dialect of the Italian language. That is why it is sometimes inaccurately cited as a statute from 1640.
The lecture is available on the Moise Palace Facebook page.
