Workshop: Learning to Successfully Communicate Science

On May 21, 2023, at Moise Palace in Cres, a workshop for doctoral students titled “Learning to Successfully Communicate Science” began.

Welcome speeches were given by Prof. Igor Prpić, Head of the Doctoral School at the University of Rijeka, Prof. Bojana Čulum Ilić, Director of the University of Rijeka Foundation, and Assoc. Prof. Damir Jugo, Dean of the Edward Bernays University of Applied Sciences. Following the welcome speeches, Prof. Bojana Čulum Ilić conducted a workshop on “What Does Disseminating Science Mean, and What Does Communicating Science Mean?”

At the workshop, doctoral students were able to learn about the meanings of disseminating and communicating science, why it is important to plan communication, how to successfully present their scientific projects using various tools, and more. They also had the opportunity to enhance their skills in public speaking in the media through practical workshops.
