We are excited to announce two UNIRI innovative micro-qualification programs coming in 2025: “Work and Well-being” and “Political Transformations.”
These interdisciplinary programs address some of the most pressing challenges of our time, offering participants insights and practical tools to navigate the complexities of the modern world.
Work & Wellbeing
The “Work and Well-being” program explores critical contemporary topics related to labor, post-work scenarios, and well-being in the context of automation, artificial intelligence, and societal shifts. It addresses historical and modern theories of work, interdisciplinary insights, and practical solutions to challenges in the labor market and well-being frameworks.
This program addresses a broad audience of students interested in rethinking work and its role in well-being, emphasizing the need for lifelong learning and innovative teaching approaches to tackle these critical issues. Students will be given the opportunity to also explore how these changes impact societal well-being and adapt to transitions in modern life.
Transformations in Politics, Policy, and Society
This program offers a comprehensive education in political science and international relations, blending theoretical foundations with practical applications. Its goal is to equip participants with the tools to critically analyze and engage with complex political, economic, and social systems on both local and global scales. As the first Politics & IR course at the University of Rijeka, it represents a critical step in advancing the University’s strategic commitment to expanding its teaching and research in these fields.
This program is particularly suited for those aspiring to careers in public service, NGOs, international organizations, or political consultancy, this lecture will provide a robust foundation for roles requiring negotiation, policy analysis, public engagement, and strategic planning. Ultimately, this micro-qualification program will empower students to become active contributors to societal and political transformations, emphasizing justice, equity, and global awareness.
Both of these programs are designed to inspire, educate, and empower individuals to adapt to and shape the future in meaningful ways – we are looking forward to a busy semester ahead!
