TITLE: Ethnographic Research in Political Science and International Relations

In this lecture, Dr. Kušić will present the debates and uses of ethnographic methods and methodologies in political science and international relations. Although these academic disciplines are often associated with “high” and “formal” politics, they also contain a rich ethnographic tradition that examines the everyday manifestations and transformations of state and international politics.

The lecture is divided into two parts. In the first part, Dr. Kušić will introduce ethnography as part of the broader field of qualitative and interpretive (reflexive) methodologies in political science and international relations. In the second part, Dr. Kušić will illustrate the political and analytical potential of the ethnographic approach through examples from their own research.
