Navigating the Green Future: Divergent Youth Climate Narratives in Slovenia

This essay compares how two Slovenian youth organizations frame climate change and political participation. Based on Facebook posts published by the institutional Mladinski svet Slovenije and the grassroots movement Mladi za podnebno pravičnost, it identifies contrasting narratives of climate governance, responsibility and action. MSS presents climate change as a governance challenge addressed through institutional cooperation, while MZPP frames it as a systemic crisis requiring pressure and collective resistance. The essay argues that existing consultation processes respond more readily to institutionalized participation and recommends stronger follow-up for grassroots actors, broader youth outreach and more interactive digital engagement.
