CAS SEE Seminars with Guests: Kristina Millona

On Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 12:00 pm (CET), we are hosting the CAS SEE Seminar with Kristina Millona on iolent invisibilization of non-normative sexualities under Hoxhas regime. The problem of archives in conversation with the RECAS Fellow Endi Tupja.
About the seminar
Despite the growing sexuality-related scholarship in Central and Eastern Europe, the history of non-normative sexualities under Albanian state socialism remains little-explored. This research attempts to historicize through archival research and discourse analysis around the epistemic violence imposed on these sexualities. It unpacks the obsession of the People’s Republic of Albania on controlling, governing and disciplining same-sex desires.
Kristina Millona (she/her) is a scholar from Albania working on topics around sexualities, communism and archives. She holds a Master’s degree in Transnational Queer Feminist Politics at SOAS University of London. She is currently focused on writing around the nexus between men, mobility and border violence by focusing on the securitisation of Albanian asylum-seekers in the UK.
