The Statutes Of Eastern Adriatic Communes in Space

The subject of the intended project are the statutes of the eastern Adriatic communes. The aim of the research is to consider the relationship between the statutes as legal documents and the cities to which they refer, as physical and social objects. The influence of the statutory provisions and regulations on the organization of the life of the citizens in the space will be considered, and even more, the effects of the statutory chapters concerning architecture and urbanism on the overall appearance of the communes. On the other hand, those legal provisions that encouraged the republican ideal and civic virtues will be put in the foreground. The basic question is whether the statutes were actually the true architects of those cities? In the end, starting from today’s political circumstances, the plan is to reaffirm the idea of republicanism and its main manifestation from one concrete point of view.
