Vesna Pusić, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, visited the University of Rijeka on April 22, 2014. During the visit she had a meeting with the directors of the Center for Advanced Studies of South Eastern Europe, who presented the activities of the Center and also started talks to launch joint projects of the Center and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs also signed a cooperation agreement with the rector of the University of Rijeka, Prof. Pero Lučin. In this agreement the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the University of Rijeka have agreed to cooperate in preparation, organization and implementation of international postgraduate program “European Interdisciplinary Studies.”
In the second part of the day Center for Advanced Studies and University of Rijeka in cooperation with the Croatian – Turkish society Rijeka organized a visit by HE Babür Hizlan, the director of the Department of the Balkans in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. HE Babür Hizlan came to visit the University of Rijeka accompanied by Selcan Şanli, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, and held a lecture titled ”Turkey’s foreign policy in Southeast Europe: foundations and perspectives”.
