The volume is the result of a longstanding collaboration between three academic institutions: the Centre for Organisational and Human Resources Research at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory at the University of Belgrade, and the Center for Advanced Studies South East Europe (CAS SEE) at the University of Rijeka. What began as a shared research dialogue has evolved into a collective scholarly endeavor, reflecting years of exchange, cooperation, and joint intellectual work. The book stands as a testament to the value of regional academic partnerships and interdisciplinary research. Bringing together authors from different fields and institutions, it explores the social, political, legal, and cultural implications of digital transformation, platform capitalism, and changing labour relations. The gathering in Cres offered an opportunity for the authors and editors to reflect on this collaborative journey and celebrate the publication of a volume that is, above all, a product of shared commitment, mutual learning, and cooperation across borders and disciplines. Special thanks to Ana Labudović for the publication’s design and visual identity.
