CAS SEE Seminars with Guests: Angela Taraborrelli

On Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 12:00 pm (CET), we are hosting the CAS SEE Seminar with Angela Taraborrelli on Federalism and Cosmopolitanism: Beyond the Limits of International Law in conversation with the RECAS Fellow Letizia Konderak.
About the seminar
Arendt’s analysis of the condition of stateless persons opens the space beyond the global organization of the nation and sovereign states, whose citizens are the only ones entitled to human rights.
The conversation will explore the possibility of rethinking the worldly law from the perspective of a federal structure connecting non-sovereign states; it will also discuss the political and legal means for facing the tragedy of statelessness.
Angela Taraborrelli (PhD 2001) is Associate Professor at the University of Cagliari, where she teaches Institutions of Political Philosophy, Political Philosophy, and History and Theories of Cosmopolitanism. She works from a cosmopolitan perspective on democracy, human rights and migration, and in particular on the problem of the integration of migrants in European societies. She is on the editorial and scientific board of several journals in the field; she founded and directs the series of studies on cosmopolitanism “L’albero delle direzioni” (Castelvecchi editore).
